Misc and Trial Shots

Armed with my 50mm f/1.8 lens in my D40 Nikon body, I went around taking trial shots to get some proof of just how good this lens it. Due to being too embarrass to take picture when there is many people/in shopping mall, I made my way out of Suntec City and I saw the below. Trying to capture the whole thing within one shot was impossible due to my lens, so I actually stitch it and it just somehow look like a round board instead of the original rectangular shaped.

It's just so amazing! Although I will get better (close up) of the flower if I have my 55-200mm, but 50mm is definitely excellent in capturing moving things! Just take a look at the below flower, it was actually moving due to wind! All I did was to focus and snap and here you go.. the flower is not OOF! If I was using 55-200mm lens, I doubt I will be able to get the same shot (okay, I know if we are looking @ macro, then that might not be the case)

Hippo Ride! Can't resist from taking a shot at it as the guide somehow caught my attention. Hopefully he doesn't mind that in the end, his image are not captured within this picture

After walking for quite sometime (I lost my way somehow trying to find the bus stop near funan LOL), I came across this seats.. I wonder is it re-arrangeable.

My Nikon AF-D 50mm f/1.8

Finally got my second lens. Although I have to use manual control, but something slightly happier is that IF I decided to upgrade my camera body, I might be able to use the AF mode.

I try capturing this (try out to be OOF)

And this although is OOF, I like the color (so nice)

It's Panorama Time?

Finally got the software to stitch the pictures that I took.

As I wasn't sure whether I am able to stitch the pictures, I took a limited view of the Park. A very nice view (I believe they are cultivating the plants at that area) so I got to see the different plants planted nicely.

See the lady at the left side? hehe.. that's... NOT me, it's a lady friend of mine who I accidentally (or purposely? hm...) caught in the picture

04-11-08 Special Thanks for the gifts

My Birthday Gift

Due to the lack of photos from my Fort Canning Trip, I played with my camera taking the pictures of the gifts which I have gotta from my colleagues. I still remembered clearly the day before my actual birthday, I fell on the staircase - injuring my wrist (in an attempt to reduce the impact of the fall) and my kneecap (which hit right into the edge of the staircase. One of my colleague even commented that he had never seen something so dented in his life which I didn't know to laugh or to cry.. muahahaha) Thus, on the actual day, I was at home (instead of work) recovering from my kneecap and wrist injury. So touched that someone remembered my birthday.. Thank you for the bear.. I still couldn't bear to unwrap it from the box

Gifts from overseas trip

No.. It's not me who went overseas.. (I want to go overseas...) These two gifts are from two of my colleagues went overseas during the Deevapali holiday.

What a weather... The day started out looking so fine. With perfect sunlight and everything. Thus, I planned my trip to pay Fort Canning a visit. However, before I could take any decent pictures, I was freaked out by the dogs which barked fiercely at me (which at 1 point, they seemed like chasing me) Pardon me if I don't understand what they are trying to do (as in they are giving me the signal to play with them? or if they are simply guarding their lands)
