Melaka Trip Oct 2023 Day 1

Image
My very first overseas trip since covid-19!!! Hotel Hotel booking as usual via online platform without any hiccups. Agoda it is. Coach to Malacca Coach booking via online platform (easybook.com) as well but now there is app to view the coach details. Even without app, the agency will send the bus details around an hour before the bus arrival at the pick up point. And this time round, we boarded at jurong east venture drive which is a lot nearer then going all the way to the east. Our coach travelled in Malaysia via tuas checkpoint. The tuas checkpoint seemed to be the only congested area where our coach seemed to take a longggg time before we finally get to alight and enter Singapore custom. But amazingly, it was swift and smooth departure. Even at Malaysia custom, it didn't take more than 15 mins to get in and board our coach!!! Totally amazed by the smooth transition. Short break at Yong Peng Short break at yong peng for some makan and toilet break Nasi lemak for the...

Day 3: Jiufen Old Street > Taipei Main Station (Ximending)

Day 1: SG > Taipei (Jiufen) Day 2: Jilong Mountain > Jiufen Old Street Day 3: Jiufen Old Street > Taipei Main Station (Ximending) Day 4: Xindian (Bitan) > Wulai > Raohe Night Market + Rainbow Bridge Day 5: Banqiao > Day 6: Back to SG Our time at Jiufen Old Street Day 3 marked the end of our 3d2n stay at Jiufen. Throughout the 3D2N, it rained almost 90% of the time. So we only managed to walk around Jiufen Old Street. And I liked that. I don't know why but rather than having a pack itinerary of exploring everywhere within a day time, I preferred to relax and take time to just laze and enjoy the scenery while sipping tea, eating and shopping. From Jiufen Old Street back to Taipei Once again, we engaged a taxi that took us back to Taipei instead of lugging our luggage and take the bus->train to Taipei. Yes, the cost is a lot more but we picked the ease of travelling back to Taipei. Back at Taipei Too early to check in, we left our luggage at O2 Hotel (Taipei...

Day 1: SG > Taipei (Jiufen)

I wrote the below 2 years ago but didn't post it.. Thinking I could actually revisit Taiwan again but sadly due to covid-19... Anyway, posting it now. Went during Oct 2019, it was a rainy season.  Took an afternoon flight...  The good and bad about travelling in the afternoon. "Good" = can check-in to our accommodation once we reached. "Bad" = caused of the timing. Almost the entire day gone when we finally reach our accommodation area. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A trip where I finally went for "trekking".  My 6D5N Trip Day 1: SG > Taipei (Jiufen) Day 2: Jilong Mountain > Jiufen Old Street Day 3: Jiufen Old Street > Taipei Main Station (Ximending) Day 4: Xindian (Bitan) > Wulai > Raohe Night Market + Rainbow Bridge Day 5: Banqiao > Day 6: Back to SG ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a rainy day on our day of arrival.  Transport ...

Review On Hotel: Batam Harris Waterfront Resort

Image
Batam Harris Waterfront Resort Stayed on 6th Oct 2018 - 7th Oct 2018 Transport:  took the ferry to batam waterfront terminal via sindo. Availability : - the pickup for harris waterfront and holiday inn shuttle was readily available. - the shuttle bus to nagoya shopping mall were already full as there were only 15 pax/shuttle. We got a cab from hotel instead to the shopping mall arranged for a 2 ways ride. Just indicate the timing for them to pick up at the shopping mall and they will be there when the requested pickup time comes. Journey:  - from ferry terminal to resort, less than 3 mins and we were already at the resort. - from resort to nagoya, approx 30mins by cab. Room:  The room I stayed in had a balcony but as said, it was partial sea view and it was quite low floor. (There were rooms on the other side which was facing the pool view though). The room was clean and tidy. Apart from the usual complimentary drinks, they also had a plate of cookies. The...
